Or, do you just buy it when you want to go shooting? Personally, I try to buy a few hundred rounds every payday.
Uhmmmm yeah. A lot like food... |
In general, I only buy .223 and 22lr. I usually stop by Wal-mart on my way home on Fridays and buy all of the 40 round Value Pack of .223 and a few boxes of the 550 rnd 22lr. I figure if I buy along the way I won't notice the cost so much. My 7.62x51 I buy in bulk and everything else I reload. At some point I will reload .223.

He might be a troll, but it seems like a valid question to me.
I usually go to Walmart or Academy once a week just to see if they might have something I want/need. I mean, I have a decent amount stored up, but I feel the need to buy plinking ammo every now and then. |
Uh, how is that a troll question?
I buy in bulk. When I've got a few hundred left, I order more. I make a large order about once a year. But, I do check out local stores, sometimes you can find deals out there. But I always have some on hand for every firearm I own. |
HE'S a troll. Who has the best hamburgers? Where were you on September 11th, 2001? Do you buy ammo on a consistent basis? Do you listen to Talk Radio? Anybody ever kind of wish that TSHTF? Ever wonder what those online Private Detective courses accomplish? Sonny Crockett - Gay? (pics) Stop those Telemarketers from calling your cell phone - link Do you guys buy into those "miracle" oil additives? Some people think I'm paranoid. Okay. So Glocks rule, eh? Why? What brand of pants do you mostly wear? I have twenty M1A mags fully loaded. Who would win this fight to the death? Last time you got laid? There are some of his threads. Shall I continue? |
I don't buy that much ammo, cuz I'm broke most of the time and I don't get the opportunity to shoot more than once a month

Try to keep some in stock.....Nothing worse than heading to the range and not having the required ammo.
I always carry about 10000 rounds on my person wherever I go.
You just never know. |
Seem like typical arfcom-type questions to me. What's your point? |
I buy when I have steady income. As a student, that means during vacations and summer.
Not everyone here has 87 AR15s so they might be around for the community, the sort of that stuff that results in friendly banter. I don't find this topic to be particularly -like. |
I stock up ahead of time. Haven't done much shooting over the winter here, so my ammo alotment has been growing.
"Fully loaded"? Heck no. I only ever Fully load mags when I'm suspecting a wave of s to come over the ridge... "Fully loaded"??? WTF Is there another kind of loaded? |
18 rounds to a 20 round mag? |
same here |
I would buy a few hundred rounds every payday but I'm too busy trying to think of 20 new topics to post.
Actually I buy lots of it when I can afford it. I rarely just buy a box of ammo with the exception of deer/elk rounds for my .30-06. Everything else I buy at least a few hundred everytime. |
FOAD, troll.
Oh wait, he'll never see that because he posts stupid questions in all forums and doesnt read any replies. |
lost_soul.......wmw.......sig-24-7? |
Using that standard, 99% of all the posts in GD are by trolls. which, by the way, ain't far off |
Be nice, obviously he's lonely and sad. You guys are all he has - poor bastard |

I either have enough to go shooting or I’m buying more then enough to go shooting.
It also depends on what kind of deal I can get at the SAXET Trade Show. It’s the first weekend every month in San Antonio. What do you know it’s a new month! |
mayber he likes starting thread, no harm in that.. maybe im a trol for haing a low post count? |
Every chance I get when I find a good deal and I have the money.
I buy it when I run out, usually from Sportsmans guide... Almost exclusively Wolf, but occasionally some NATO surplus (esp .308).... The exception is 9mm, which thanks to WalMart (WWB) & Gander Mountain (Wolf) is just not economical to ship.... |
I have less than 10,000 rounds at home.
I definitely need more ammo There's a Gun Show later today. I wonder how many more cases of ammo I’ll be able to buy? |
I buy when I run out.
I have about 200rds of store-bought stuff sitting at home. The rest that I actually shoot is Wolf. Case at a time. I start thinking about how I'm going to buy another case when I have about 100rds left. WIZZO |
Thanks, GS, you made me feel more normal. |
No, I don't That's the reason I bought a Dillon 550, so, I'm not buying ammo all the time. When I run low, I run the Dillon for a few hours and the problem is solved. All I buy is powder, bullets, primers, cases. Other than .22 rimfire, I haven't bought ammo at the store for years....
I don't buy much ammo at all but I do keep a fair amount of components in stock and try to keep a reasonable supply of loaded ammo on hand at all times.
I thought it was food?!?!? Sort-a-like PMC Pistol Chow. |
Depends, if I see a good deal I'll scarf up more than usual. Otherwise, I use it as I shoot it. Nobody has broken in so I haven't bothered to buy any more home defense rounds. ;)
Buy ammunition? Never. (Except .22 rimfire of course).
Buy loading components? Only in large batches to save $$$. |
