Not sure if interchangibility is a word...anyooo (I also posted this on the shotgun forum but hvent heard anything)


May sound like a dumb question but ive got a remington express magnum in 20g that I would like to turn into a home defense gun. Since I'm poor and I dont want to go and buy another shotgun I would like to know if the stocks are interchangeable. Especially the feedspeed pistol grip type. I'd also like to put a 2 shot extension, if possible on there. Is this possible?

Here's some help from Speedfeed about their stocks:

"Remington 20 gauge shotguns with serial numbers ending in K or U, take the LW20 gauge set. Shotguns with serial numbers ending in X or N take the 12 gauge set:

For magazine extensions, the only 20 gauge model I know about is the Choate Machine model, which is one of the best made:

For the Choate extension, email the company to get exact details, since the 12 gauge models DO NOT fit the 20 gauge.  I "think" Choate calls the 20 gauge versions the "Light weight" model.

I wouldn't want a stock that fit both, IMO. The size from the 12 to 20 is not insignificant & a stock that fit both would be way too loose for the 20, IMO.

There are two sizes of 20g receiver, just make sure you get the correct stock. One of them is the same size as the 12g. Yes, Choate makes an extention for 20g, you can get it direct or from Brownells.
