I saw a scan of an ad in some thread somewhere and now my interest is high in finding out if it is true. I haven't seen anything but that one mention.

Yes it was, just that no one knows anything more than rumors now.

I certainly hope it's true.

STEYR would not sell the AUG tooling to DSA Arms and the deal fell through.

Otherwise DSA was really going to make an AUG.

Doesn't someone have that ad page saved?  *I* saw it, it's not some delusion.  And the picture used was the same one just posted.

Sorry guys isn't going to happen.

Steyr has pulled out all support of US products.

They just built a new factory in Austria and don't have any money to built one here.

The amount it would cost would be rediculous and they have had ZERO luck selling guns here.

That add was made by DSA to see if there was interest in the project, that's it.  They even had a mistake on there....notice the 20 round mags...no 20 round mags exist for the AUG.

That's an ad by DSA?  Then why does it say Steyr AUG, not DSA AUG?  They don't call their FALs 'FN FALs'.

I don't see a FAL add on there...  and maybe it was just that add that was DSA's.  It was put in there by one of the DSA main guys, that's what I know and my sourse is the best.

You guys do reliase that AUG's cost new around $2000 US in other countries....

Steyr REFUSES to sell anymore parts to the US...not going to happen.  I own an AUG, I stay up on this stuff.

Why?

I dunneo.....

They won't even fill orders to vendors for replacement parts.

Probally mad no one bought any of their guns....

i think the older augs look better than the one in the ad

The high cost of parts is why I got rid of both my AUG's.

I think they gave the US market a shot when the AUGs and SPPs were imported.  Then they got banned and Steyr was pissed.  I wonder if those semi AUGs and neutered TMPs were designed specifically for the US civilian market.  They might have lost money on that.  Now they won't make the same mistake twice and will only import something safe like 9mm and .40 pistols.

That's a damn shame, because the railed AUG in that picture gives me the special tingle.
