What is the correct way to measure barrel lenght? I was told to close the bolt, drop arod down the barrel, mark rod at the end of muzzle(depends on how flash hider is attached) them measure marked rod. Or do you measure from the chamber meeting the barrel?

I use a cleaning rod....have the bolt closed, slide a cleaning rod down the end of the barrel until it hits the face of the bolt, mark the rod with a marker then pull it out and measure it.

Duh....just like you said...I see that now

I use a wooden dowel with bolt closed measured to furthest part of barrel or peremently attatched muzzle device

Revolvers are the only guns that do not include the chamber in the barrel length measurement.
