anyone ever try powdercoating a gun?

A lot of factory firearms are powder coated.

Powder coating is nothing more than electrostatic charging the metal to allow the powderized material to cling to the to metal, then the part are heated to bond/melt it into a final finish. Areas that are not to be finished are just plugged off to prevent the material to enter the area.

As for the finish standing up to cleaning solvents, it just depends on the material used.

I was just thinking about all the possibilities of powdercoating and it would be different than blued or parked or krylon. I might have to give it a shot
