I don't know if the price is reasonable or not, but have you checked out mag prices yet?
IIRC, the BM-59 takes its own unique mag, and they're not cheap. Maybe the S-A built version takes a more common mag. A phone call to S-A, along with the S/N of the rifle might help. ADDED: Here's a link to Reese Surplus, who sells BM-59s and their parts and accessories. www.reesesurplus.com/bm59parts.html If you scroll down, you note that the BM-59 mags are scarce, and also list at $89 per. |

raf: Thanks for the information, the rifle is offered with two 20 round mags, so that should get someone started at least. A buddy is looking at the BM59, and I know very little about the. Personally I have an M1A and am happy with it.

For the rifle and two mags, $1,200 is a very good price. I just sold a BM-62 (sporter version) with one mag for $1,400. |

The Beretta BM59 is a sweet piece of Ordinance.....in fact it was a BM59 that got me started on loving M14's.

That's a terribly high price, I wouldn't buy it if I were you.
