I have sold 4 guns since I started shooting. 2 Glocks, I traded them for a Kimber. But I sold Mossberg 590 and a Smith & Wesson 9mm. The Mossberg 590 I sold for $400 in December of 1999. I was at the trap range and this guy kept looking at and asked me if I wanted to sell it. I said No, He said I will give you $400 for it. That Got my attention. Since I only payed $300 for it. He ran to the ATM and got the cash. I guess he wanted it for Y2k. I then went over to Gander mountain and Bought a Benelli Nova. I miss the S&W 5904 becuase 9mm is so cheap. I shoot alot of .45 now. Now tell be about your guns that you wish you never Sold.

My first handgun, a mint H&K USP40f. Sad for two reasons:

First gun I ever owned and best handgun I have ever shot. I still have a USP compact which I had when I sold it. But still.

Thats funny, the first handgun I ever purchased was a HK USP40F. Thats one more to add to my list

I've sold more guns than I can rememberrrr; in fact, sometimes I own more guns than I can remember ("where did that one come from?")

But the one I really regret selling was a Colt 1911 (Not 1911 A1) that had funkiny sights and some weird custom work.

It shot great, but I was heading off to school and didn't want to store the guns I had at the time; figured I needed the money more than the hardwar.

About 5 years later I open a copy of American Rifleman and there's a feature story on my gun (or at least it's twin). Apparently it was from a series of handbuilt guns for the military that eventually evolved in to the Colt Gold Cup.

It wasn't so much the lost value of the firearm (it was pretty significant), but it was the best shooting Colt I ever owned.

I had a model 92 winchester that was manufactured in 1895.... caliber 44-40, and I wish I had never sold it

Also the multitude of M1s I got rid of because my girl at the time kept ragging on me for owning "14 guns that are all exactly the same!"

It was the first firearm that I actually bought with my own money. I sold it about a year later because I was young, dumb, and too lazy to buckle down & get a job.

To this day, I am angry with myself that I sold it for $$$ to party with.

My Grandmother's Winchester Mod.1890 .22 Octagnal Barrel, take down.If I'd known gun parts then like I do now, I'd never sold it.

That was the gun that almost killed me. My brother and I broke it down and hiked into the field about 2 miles away - I was 11 and he was 14. We had 6 .22 rounds that he came up with, so we used a junk car for a target for the 1st 3 or so rounds. Then I saw a Coke bottle laying on the side of the path so I put it in the headlight of the junker.

When I pulled the trigger I heard "BAM" then.."wheeenng". I reckon it was about 3" over my head. When we went to look (me crapping the whole way), the .22 had hit directly below the base of the Coke bottle and transcribed a perfect 180 around the metal head light bezel, and exited right back at me over the top of the bottle. Never touched the bottle and left a groove where it pulled a U'ee on it's way back to get me. I learned a lot in that 1 minute period. Incredible.

My Great grandfathers revolver that he carried as a Texas Ranger, (it was a rust bucket and pitted like hell but I miss the "memento" value".

The only gun I'm sorry I sold was my Sudanese AR-10. Not the current production, but the original 1950's era AR-10. Had something like 20 mags with it (they were only $5 each at the time, because they didn't fit anything else). I did sell it for more than it would cost me to buy a current production Armalite version (which by the way is a much better gun) today, so I suppose that's not that bad. Still, it would bring ultimate bragging rights at the range/shoots!

The only others were guns I wish I sold later to just make more money on, like the HK-94s for $550, or the AR-15's for $350, etc. Still would have sold them as I had good reasons at the time.

My Ruger 1022 I sold before moving back to Germany in 95. I could have just left it with my parents, it wasn't like I needed the money!

2nd was not a gun but 6 brand new 30 rounders I ended up with after I did my European Out ETS in Germany. Gave them to my brother-in-law Fritz! Told him "Here you can have these, I'll never own the rifle to go with them!" Boy was I wrong and STUPID!

Well, this was in the early 80's, and the value of the gun was noted as around $5,000 (I had bought it from and estate sale for $300 and sold it for $500). At the time I couldn't possibly afford it, and now, it's just a past regret.

HK94 that had been converted to SBR and restamped MP5. I had everything for it. Was flawless. I ended up trading it for a converted HK53. It was just as flawless, but not near as cheap and fun to shoot.

How about the one you didn't buy!

A mint Colt SP1 Carbine, with case, 30 mags and 1000 rounds of ammo. Story was that the gun was owned by a LEO owned and he pawned for cash. I happened into the pawn shop and eyed it on the wall. How much I ask.....$900.00 the owner replied. I did not know much about AR's then and I still kick myself for not buying it.

I keep checking in there, hoping it will be pawned again.

Springfield M1-a back in the 80's, when they were good,
Colt 6" King cobra with a tuned out action- best revolver I ever shot.

Sold them both for money reasons, swore never to sell another gun. And haven't.

308 M1 Garand Select Grade from Orion...it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I thought it was too nice to shoot, and I liked my new CMP Danish M1. I was going to save all that 308 for the M1a I was going to get instead. I got laid off right after selling it, so the M1a never happened. Now I've got 700 rounds of 308 and no gun to shoot it with.

Only two I've sold. Browning Citori o/u and a Rem. 700 BDL bullBarrel 222, after the guy paid me he said.."I'll re-chamber that to a 223... Now why didn't I think of that. Stupid in them days,thats why!

A Colt Custom Shop AR15, I think a #6700. It was a flattop that came with a ARMS scope mount and no carry handle.....Also a Detonics Combat Master.

NYPatriot same here, I got mine in I think 1984 at the Rod and Gun Club on Rhine-Main Air Base in Germany. I only paid $350.00 for it and at that time, I had no idea what the hell I was buying it for other than it looked cool.

Once back in the States I traded it away. Now being in Law Enfoecement, I sure wish I had it back.

Also, I traded away a Gunsouth Imported FN-FAL Para thinking I would get another. I traded it for two NIB Browning BAR's, one in .300 Mag and one in 7mm Mag. At that time, it was an even trade money wise, but then the ban came along.

I sware, unless it is to put food in my kids mouths, I will NEVER sell another gun, or trade one off for that matter.

1985,I was unemployed, sold a mint 03/a3 Smith-Corona for $100.00, I needed cash badly,(bought this rifle from a friend few years before for $250.00) That was a hell of a accurate rifle, Did'nt really know what I had, I've been kicking myself ever since,(and everytime I see one at a gun show)I'm going to be buying my second garand from the CMP soon, they will NEVER be sold...

Sig Sauer p226 9mm with two hi-cap magazines

Colt AR-15 A2 lower / A1 upper

Ruger Mark II Stainless target 22lr with 5.5 inch bull barrel. Tack driver.

I sold them all when I was in the Army to pay some outlandish phone bills I had wracked up with my girlfriend. (Oh the stupid things I have done for girls).

I wish I hadn't sold the Glock 23. it wasn't a perfect fit for me, but it was far more carryable than my SIG 220.

I don't regret selling the Ruger KP90DC or the Ruger .357 Magnum Blackhawk.

I kind of wish I still had my Remington M700 PSS (.308), but the M1A Supermatch I replaced it with is more versatile.
