I have an A3 with floating barrel grip and 20" barrel. (DPMS)
What is a good and inexpensive scope to get to start with.
I don't want to spend lots of $$$ right away. Just need something till this spring when more funds are available.

Right now you can get a Weaver or a Burris compact from Midway for under $200. Some of the Weavers go for closer to $100.

My first question is this: Are you wanting magnification or an electronic dot type??

You're better off buying a quality scope the first time. Of course you can pickup a Tasco or Bushnell 3-9X 40 for about $45 at a Walmart if you fixed on this route. But why pay that much and then a few months later spend another $200?
Aimless listed some excellent quality scopes for the price and would stick with those for a first time and only time buy (if that is the case).

I was in WallyWorld yesterday, ..yeah I know, but they had the leupold 3x9-40 at 244.99, and the bushnell elite 3200 @ 179.99.
