Have a chance to trade for a 20" post ban A2 upper. What is the QC and fit/finish like. The only product I own of the theirs is a receiver wrench. I am trading my bushmaster dissipator.

DPMS fine product and good quality...Why do you want to get rid of the Dissapator? I want to build one with a ACE skeleton stock.

I just picked up a DPMS "Panther Classic" 20" AR-15/A2 a couple of weeks ago in a trade.   DPMS rifles has a reputation for outstanding finishes and being highly accurate. Although I cannot attest to the accuracy (I haven't fired mine yet, waiting on ammo), I'm impressed with the fit and finish which is excellent. If the upper you are looking at is a standard factory 20" HBAR upper without options, it has a chromoly 1/9" barrel, not chrome lined.

I'll second the complements of the DPMS ARs.  I have one of their M4 uppers and it is very well done.

Uppers are forged, lowers are cast. Upper & lower receivers are hard coat anodized
& teflon coated. The link is to the specs of my rifle. www.shooterstore.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=90&Product_ID=5295&CATID=493

not all their lowers are cast.  the suffix of the serial numbers determines this.
i.e. 1234c  (cast
    1234f  (forged)
i have 2 dpms lowers, both forged.

- actually it might be before the number..i'll have to go check.  the stainless lowers also have an S on them.

DPMS Chambers are a little tighter then say Bushmaster but I enjoy the one I have and have had no problems with it.
