Colt Combat Commander in 9mm.

Given to me by my dad, it spent about 15 years loaded in the top drawer of his dresser.

I still have it, it's about the only gun I have any sentimental attachment to.

A Savage model 99F lever action in .358 Win.

It used to belong to my father who died when I was 3. He took his share of whitetail with it. My uncle and cousins used to tell me stories about them hunting together. I still have an 8-point rack that my father took. When I was 16 my uncle gave the rifle to me. I am now in my 40's and that rifle means more to me than any other one I own.

OK, now I'm all teary eyed....

First Pistol:
Sistema Colt Model 1927, 11.25MM

(What the Argentines call a pre-WWII M1911A1, .45ACP)

Bought it from JLD Enterprises for $300, as a '21st B-day present to myself'.

First Rifle:
AR-15, from assorted parts.

I don't have all of it yet, but I just got the stripped lower (Oly Arms PCR-02, $129 + tax) from my local gun shop today. I'll get the rest at the next Milwaukee-area gun show.

It's gonna be as close to an M16A2 as I can legally get with a post-ban semiauto lower.

I don't know when I got it, but it was my Great Great Aunt's 16Gauge, SxS "Ranger" (Stephens 311), and I took my first deer with it when I was 7-8 YO,  A couple of years ago, I had it Black Chromed, receiver Hard Chromed, and a new stock made for it.  I wanted to keep using it, and it checked out , so I figured what the heck, it's a family thing, so spend some $$$
