Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - HK G3 mags in CETME?

Will G3 mags fit in the CETME?  I've been wanting a G3 type rifle, but I doubt I'm ever going to have enough to get a G3 - and it seems the newer CIA CETMEs don't have the same problems with misaligned sights as before.

Well, CETME mags fit HK91s, so the opposite SHOULD be true.

Not according to what I've heard.  Supposedly they can be made to fit with a little file work.  There is a supposed ridge or bump that is on the G3 mags and needs to be removed.  That is why CETME mags work in a G3 but not the other way around.  YMMV

Sometimes they do,sometimes they don't.I've got a Cetme with the SS receiver and my steel G3 mags work just fine.Other people have had problems though.
