[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Informer built AK-74 on the way home!

"Informer" at SAI finally completed my rebuilt AK-74. It started out as an Intrac Arms Int'l AK-74 back in December 2001 and is coming back with some neat upgrades...metal refinish, barrel fluted, accurizing job, cryo'd barrel, RSA FCG. Much better pics and range report to follow!

Edited to add, I picked up the latest generation Kobra Red Dot sight from tantal, should be one hot set up!

How much would one of those cost? If you don't mind me asking.

What's with the metal mag? I thought all the AK-74 mags were Bakelite?

You never cease to amaze me..I hope you have it by July 7th. Bring lots of ammo also. You know I am going to have to build one now. Could someone lend me some money

No, that AK now belongs to Vinnie, that was an SAR - 1, kind of wish I never sold it!

You gotta show this to Campy Waverunner.

What's an Intrac Arms Int'l AK-74? Is that a SAR-2 variant? What nationality is it?

Also, is that a Russian pattern muzzle brake up front, and how much did all of this cost?

Lastly, lose the metal mags. Black polymer Bulgies look SOOOO much better.

Your guess is as good as mine...it's called a "German Legend AK-74" based on the paperwork that came with the original rifle. It had some ugly brown plastic furniture on it and the receiver was stamped "OOW" for Ohio Ordnance Works, I belive it was a single stack converted to hi-cap

Russian Pattern? Beats me! That's one of "Informer's" AK-74 Brakes. I think he mentioned that he turned the profile down a little bit for me. Send him an e-mail for total pricing, let's just say it was very reasonable.

that metal mag was for photo purposes only, All I have are polymer Bulgies and one ugly as hell brown E. German mag!

Fine-looking weapon, Ray. How did you manage to get it back so soon. I paid Gary in full in November 2001 for an AK-103 clone and still haven't seen any indication that it is even near completion. Heck, I cannot even get him to answer my e-mails. One thing is for sure, he's the best out there. He reworked an underfolder for me last year and it is a real beauty. Hopefully it will not be too much longer on my rifle. Have a great time shooting yours!

I looked long and hard and finally located myself three steel Romanian 30-rounders for my AK-74 clone (SAR-2) a while back. They are out there, just not as common as the Bakelites and Bulgarian slabsides.

If it's an Intrac (imported by the now defunct Intrac Arms) then it's a Romanian ak built at the Cugir Arsenal.

Damn Waverunner, I had to check my safe to see if you stole my rifle! It is exactly the same set-up. Beautiful! I suggest you get a thousand rounds of Barnaul 5.45 ASAP! It's nice to see another Campyclone running around.
