What color as a second choice beside black would you like to have on an AR?

I like the white & grey look... The 'snow camo' type thing. Also, the DPMS Arctic Panther has such a 'I'm the cleaner' air about it!
I'd also like an AR10T in a sparkly red or blue job. |
Bowflage ? I've never tried it but read that others here have used it for repainting. Thinking of doing some RAS panels in green to match my buttstock and pistol grip. |

Waverunner:
"What? No paisley? How about tartan plaid?" I'd like tye-dyed myself. Swirled blue-yellow or purple-pink....... If I ever get around to doing a 80% lower I was thinking about anodizing it purple & a purple/pink furniture would fit right in. Sort of a Barbie Dream AR15 for my niece for when she's old enuff. Seriously though, swirled brown/black would look kinda like the old Tenite stocks on some of the old Savage/Stevens shotguns & the original Armalite AR7. Or the Mohawk Brown Remington Nylon66. |

I'm severely color blind, so I just stick with black.
Some days I'm surprised my fiance let's me shop by myself, although it's nice when somebody picks out the colors of your clothes for you. Av. |

Does your front sight post get in the way of your optics? I am thinking about building one almost identical to what you have, but don't know if I should get it with or without the front sight post. |
I would really like a quality set of Brown furniture for one of my ARs. I posted in the Cavalry Arms forum a little while back but got no response as to whether or not they would consider it.
The front sight post does not get in the way of the reflex, in fact its the starting point for zeroing it. Put the red dot right on top of it, while looking thru the BUIS. Little or no adjustment is needed if you start there. With my NSN ACOG, you see a blurry image of the front sight post at first, but you eyes get used to it and it kinda disapears. |

The Commandant of the Marine Corps has said he wants to paint all weapons "Coyote Brown"...and that Knight's Armament will start supplying stocks in that color...

TAN
As a base for desert camo. White As a base for arctic camo. -Troy |

Green for me...
I would like to make a Bright colored Cav-Arms target AR though. |
Nukem,
I heard that the blue stock sets were discontinued for liability reasons. I can understand why, but I think that a blue set would be cool too. |
We currently (as of today) have the folowwing colors:
Black Green Tan Gray Blue Yellow Pink Purple Red If I can get a line on Brown plastic, we will do a test run and see who is in the mood to buy it. nThe bitch is if we run a bunch of parts and no one wants them, we end up sitting on them and don't re-coupe the cost of running it. |
Shawn,
Your "stock" is just the plastic section, not the whole tube and buffer assembly, right? I need to order some tan furniture soon... -Troy |
IS your furniture std AR type config just made out of different color plastic, or is it something else? What about heat sheilds and hardware are they included? And of course how much? I think some nice color photos might be helpful to post. Since it's a subjective thing, seeing is everything. Thanks M4-AK |

Just curious - do you know if your stocks take dye in the same way people are doing the SL8 and UMP stocks? If so, people could probably just order the gray ones (looks very light) and try for their own colors (brown, etc). Rocko |

Check eBay. I see brown furniture sets for 20" barrel there all the time. |
Will have all the stuff at the BRC and will have pictures of the new stuff up after the BRC

Make sure you bring some Cav Arms T-Shirts; I need one in size: FAT BOY.

I can't believe that a moderator hasn't locked this thread!
The term "colored furniture" is no longer acceptable. The correct term is "furniture of color". |
I just refinished some old A1 furniture with Brownell's OD green Aluma-Hyde spray paint. It matches the Cavalry Arms OD green very closely.
I voted green, but thats only if the rest stays black. I think wood would be cool, but I didnt take brown as meaning wood. If I have the option, Mossy Oak over the whole gun.
Wait a second! You mean that you made Pink, Purple, and Yellow, but thought that Brown would be too risky? Now, I know I don't know the whole story, but I can't believe that Brown would be less popular than Pink! BTW - I want a Faux Walnut burl stock, grip, and handguards. Real Wood might not work that well, but Faux wood plastic would look great, and remain functional. Brushed Aluminum would also look cool. |
I'd never want a carbine anything but some low profile practical coloration, but if I had some pimped out, flutie 24" barrel, big optic having target AR, I'd definitely want some flash frame like the cool CavArms ones. It's like having a custom bowling ball, the ultimate in uncool coolness.

I like OD green because to me, it just makes an already mean-looking rifle appear even more "sinister."
