This might be a bit obvious:  daylight.

I chose the Vortex at the time, and have been thinking of switching to the Phantom (and now, that one is different without the "bayonet-like" projections on the end...).
So, I said daylight.

A little note on the bayonet part of the phantom.  Yeah it works With out going into detail I sliced a 3" gouge in the wood trim around our closet.  It was an accident but the wife is not ammused.

The vortex works great but rings like a tuning fork when it bumps into a door frame or something.
It also tends to blow off tines when it gets REAL hot.

Make mine a Phantom on a 14.5"

A1 birdcage is the most anti flash proficient.

I was always afraid of dropping the rifle and having the Phantom slice my leg open or bury itself in my foot...

Who makes the Phantom that Bushmaster sales? With Phantom they have pictured you loose a big plus of the Phantom. No not slicing your leg. With the old one, the Notches allow you to rest/index the muzzle on a wire fence and shoot. This new closed ended one takes that away.

I think the phantom is the most effective I've tried, truly remarkable.

Unrepentent, Great book and askins reference.

Bird cage for me--just a classic look.  Phantom is very, very close second.

I would have to vote for the Gemtech M4-96D It completly eliminates the flash. It also cuts down on the sound as well.

The only flash suppressors that I have extensive hands on experience with are the three prong, A1 and A2 birdcages. Out of these I would choose the A2 version as the better suppressor.

A1 has more slots so it will be more effective than an A2.
