I like to get as schwifty as the next guy, but that's a hard pass on that color scheme.
Now if you mock up a szechuan sauce color scheme, I may be swayed. PS- Ask a mod to move this to the Refinishing subforum of Armory to avoid another nuke from orbit. |

I think it looks pretty horny as it sits. That said, it is your rifle, paint it whatever colors you want if it make you happy. I look forward to the completed rifle.
BTW, all my AR rifles are black. One of my AR pistols has a few pieces of FDE furniture and accessories. I like black ARs. |

Everyone has black, fde, od, whatever nowadays. Its salad days and everything is cheap as fuck. Original guns are best guns. Make it your own.

I had to google what this was all about; Aw Geez, Rick and Morty, etc.
Not a fan, but to each their own. If we all liked the same thing, life would be boring. I have a handful of SBRs, too, and I have some Cerakote on a few. They all look like grown-up owned firearms, though 
Good luck with your project. Arf is a tough crowd. When you ask for opinions, be sure that you want them.

I wasn't asking for general opinions.
I was asking for opinions to make it follow the inspiration theme better. Or painting techniques to apply to different parts. not a whole bunch of ar-15 fudds that say all ar's need to be black or spray painted a crappy camo like everyone else. |

Go for it. Black, fde, camo, etc are boring. I'd paint my guns with "skins," ala CSGO, if I were artistic. Looks badass.

I think the issue is ,you are asking for approval for
something based off a kids show. If you are making it for a kid sure looks cool, I am sure my Daughter would like it But for a adult shooter. Sorry its childish. But hey its your rifle have at it, but don't get butt hurt if no one on here likes your idea. You asked |

Not something I'd do but it makes me laugh and I do appreciate the concept, the decision to do something a little unorthodox , and the butt-hurt of some. Make sure there's some luminescent highlights on it. A "black light" gun would be cool.

This looks like something you’re going to do, think is really cool, and then feel like an idiot shooting at the range.
Either way, it’s your rifle go for it. Not every rifle has to black, but not every rifle has to look like an ice cream truck either. More importantly, this should be in the GD or the refinishing forum. |
