I am about to start refinishing a s&w model 10-8 with gunkote. I have  got a few questions about what areas i may run into problems at.

I need to tear the revolver down to component parts and clean it, blast what's left of the bluing off, and stone done some of the exterior rough areas. Since gunkote is so thin I should be to coat lightly 3 times and then lap down any interference I run into but what are the parts that should get as little thickness on them?
