anybody have a good product recommendation to remove several coats of krylon?  something that will reveal the original black finish on an m4.

Aircraft remover.
You can buy it at most auto parts stores.

You must wear latex gloves as it will burn through your skin.
It will eat off the paint but will NOT hurt the anodizing.

Nutralizes with water.

I used acetone, rubber gloves, and a plastic bristle brush.

I wouldn't put this on the furniture! (I use this stuff quite a bit at work and also at home for powdercoat removal.)
I'd suggest  Goof Off Graffiti remover.
