I would use Mek, acetone or something similar. It shouldn't harm your vfg. I use acetone to prep plastic for paint.

I'd start with carb cleaner. It will take the paint off for sure. Spray it down and take an old rag and wipe. Repeat as needed. If it doesn't get the primer go for the MEK. Just watch the fumes...especially with the MEK.

Spray carb cleaner, acetone, or lacquer thinner should all work pretty well. You may need to use a little brush action, but it shouldn't be a big deal. |
