I need to send a mg receiver to a class 3 dealer out of state for repairs. Which shipper do I use. I have seen that USPS says they will not ship "concealable guns" this is a part so does that still apply? I have read that ATF recommends a filing a form 5, but not necessary. Does it have to be shipped from a FFL and back to them. What is the safest & legal way. I don't want it "lost in transit" Thanks.

Best bet is to ask your dealer that you are sending it to, some have preferred methods

You cannot ship machineguns via UPS.
USPS is how I do it fully insured.

This is the only way I'll ship NFA. I've seen suppressors shipped simple priority mail, but high dollar MGs? Not worth the risk.

Suppressors can go fedex or ups. I’ve used both

I used USPS registered mail. I have insurance through Eastern and that is the way they wanted it shipped. It will move slower that priority so be prepared to wait.

I talked to the shop today. They also said ship it USPS registered. Thanks for the replies.
