How do they contact you if their is a denial? 3. Do they charge the credit card before or after approval? 1. I’ve never had them reach out...so I’m not sure what their preferred method is. 2. They mail the form back with the Disapproved box checked. 3. Your CC gets charged before the ATF ever sees your form. You mailed it to their payment processor in Oregon, who will forward it to the ATF once the payment clears. Why didn’t you file electronically? Just a glutton for punishment? |

Out of all my friends and family whom have done NFA paperwork, the only ones that had issues were done electronically. 2. We are used to the wait so it doesn't bother us. 3. We want an original document with a real stamp and signature. Old school, I guess. These are the reasons why I file by paper and snail mail. If it 'aint broke, I don't fix it. |

From my experience, any type of communication or notification from the ATF for paper forms has been done through snail mail. The only time I've been contacted through email is for eforms.
