Buddy gave me an old percussion 20 bore.
Came out of the family farm in Black River Falls, Wi.
Anyone know what I have?

Based on my research, that's a single barrel 20 gauge percussion shotgun, made between 1822 and the 1870s.

Import quality fowler with late Ketland lock and Liege barrel. Just a nice example of the run of the mill smoothbore that was sold by the boat load and the true gun that settled the frontiers.

Thanks guys,
Talking with a buddy and he thought it might be a flintlock conversion.
I don't know much about them, but wouldn't the side lock be differnt?
Another thing is finding a competent gunsmith to inspect..
I was told the last time it was fired was in the early 60's
