Been seeing a number of these on the auction sights. Do any of you folks have any information or comments on these ? They look interesting but I'd like to know if they are junk or jewel.

 TIA

A friend has several of these, including the Rashid and Swedish Ljungman and likes them very well. He told me that they're a little hard on brass and that the Egyptian versions were criticized for their performance in the desert climate. At any rate, his function very well and he hasn't had any problems worth mentioning.

I like mine.  They are decent shooters.   The action is needlessly complex.  I would be dead in combat id I had to use it, I couldn't get it loaded in time.  With practice it shouldn't be too hard though.

The muzzle blast is punishing to anyone standing next to you, so be sure to keep everyone behind you.
The only issue I can think of is that all Egyptian ammo was corrosive, so be sure to check the gas system.

Don't use Turk ammo in this rifle either.

Thanks for the responses. Been doing some reading over on Parallax's board and got some good info there.
As for desert climates I'm not expecting to see that anytime soon in my area so that is not an issue. I've so far stayed away from corrosive ammo even though it costs me few extra bucks. I have been using recent issue Sellier&Bellot in my Mausers with good results.
May have to pick one of these up if I can get a good price.

 Thanks,
