I'm looking for a way to attach a pic rail the .920' bull barrel on my 10/22. I'd like to drill and tap the barrel so I can mount a TLR-VIR IR aiming laser under the barrel for NVG pest elimination.
I'd like to put the mount pretty far forward for best illumination.

Don't mount things directly to your barrel. That's what hand guards are for.

A Different Option...

Mount a Pic rail to the receiver for your optics and then an offset pic rail section to mount the laser.

Many options to choose from.
