I have a Plain Jane 10/22 carbine, nuttin special jus the way it came from Ruger, wood stock and flip up leaf site. I would rate it at 90%. The wood is damn near perfect, one lil ding up front. No scratches or anything weird. I have no idea what year it was made, no box or paper work. Any ideas. I dont see too many Plain Jane unmolested ones for sale on the EE. thanks

I bought one, as described, for about $95, IIRC. I gave it away in a membership contest here

Oshman's everday price is $149 for the blued carbine.  The stainless with blued barrel and synthetic stock was $165.

Used price for a plain 10/22 carbine is generally $100.  Sometimes more if you can get it.  I've seen barrelled actions with trigger guard go for as low $65, though I wish I could find a deal like that.

Who or what is Oshman's. Is that price with tax or shipping? My price included that and I live less than a minute from where I got it.

Oshman's is a sporting goods chain store in the Texas. Unfortunately, they don't have them up north yet.

Thanx for clearing that up for me.

They just got bought by Sports Authority.  The guy I used to buy from back in Houston said they'll have all their names changed to Sports Authority by the end of 2005.

I live 5 miles from Oshmans.  My attempt was to point out that those of us who don't have a friend who can get the discount can purchase from Oshmans at a similar price.  That price does not include tax, and Oshman's is a retail chain, so they don't ship.

Actually The Sports Authority didnt buy out Oshmans. It was the other way around.
Now the stores will be called The Sports Authority Inc. it will take alot longer for all the stores to be changed over than 2005.
You can find the 10/22 at any Oshmans/Gart Sports/Sportmart/Sports Authority that sells firearms. 159.99. And if they dont have it they can get it for you, interstore transfers are pretty easy.
