Who currently has a good price on quality soft armor (3A) inserts (plate backers) and also has a good track record?

I highly recommend the plate backers from Crye Precision. They are very well constructed, possibly the best backers I've ever handled. Velocity Systems would be another recommendation.

Both extremely good options and without a doubt the first choices.
If money is tight and you're forced to accept extra weight and thickness, the AFC backers sold by SKD Tactical and Arbor Arms are made with an NIJ listed package and are good to.

Anyone know if the Crye or Velocity backers are good to go in a Spiritus LV119?

So long as the overall thickness is not too much for the LV119, it should be ok

Thanks! I just placed an order yesterday for the Proguard STX Set from Midwest Armor an was looking either at the Crye or Velocity as a backer. The plates are standalone but just to have as an added protection

I used a large LV119 for my 10x12 DKX plates (about 1.2" thick) and it was a snug fit.
