Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Smith & Wesson Model 3000 question

I recently bought a S&W model 3000 pump shotgun. The only bad news is that the previous owner decided to carve his name into the butt stock. It looks exactly the same as a 870 stock. Does anyone know if they are interchangable? I can't find a replacment for the S&W, but 870 stocks are everywhere.
