I have one of the limited edition Benelli M1014-marked shotguns. It's been almost 16 months since I've fired it, and it was a NIB shotgun then. I had Arfcom members at a local shoot bring every type of slug and shotshell they could scrounge up for testing, and it functioned flawlessly with everything we fed it.

Mine's an M4, Model 11703 (much-maligned low-recoil 4-port barrel version).  I went north of the 2000 round mark at the range yesterday.

There are no signs of any deformation on the bolt/bolt carrier, cracks, etc. that have been reported with some of the 11703's, especially those used with other than reduced-recoil rounds.

I've been feeding mine Federal Tactical reduced-recoil slugs and #00 buck for the most part, probably 250 - 300 rounds of Remington 3" sluggers and 3" #00 and #000 buck out of that 2000+ round total.  No problems of any kind.

After each range session, I thoroughly inspect the weapon for signs of problems near the bolt carrier looking for any signs of developing problems - thus far, nothing is surfacing.

M4 L E here.  Shot the crap out of it, have the mods done at the company, shot it some more, and now it just sits.  Have the collaspable stock but never installed it.

I have nearly 8k through this critter, no hiccups or burps of any kind. 90% of the rounds have been full house sabot (Lyman 525gr.) slugs. Thus far, it has given good service.

They can't lay it far enough away for me to afford it right now.

How much does a stock M4 sell for.  I have an M1 super 90 and love it.  Would like to add an M4.  Thanks.

You guys would have to make a very generous offer, but I'd part with my unfired M1014 for the right price.  Let me reiterate that you'd have to make a very generous offer.

It must be nice to live in a country that can have a full-feature Benelli M4.

Oh, and if anyone has a regular field stock for an M4, I'd be interested in purchasing it or trading my collapsable stock for it.

Good luck on the magazine extension - Benelli pulled them on Nov. 2 of 2005 due to the 922(r) conflict.  I've been monitoring the Benelli forum since that time, and it's been madness as these things have disappeared.  One recently sold on eBay for $355...

Follow M1014's advice in this thread from the Benelli forum, and make your own sling - I did, and it works great:

It's Pop guns in Indianapolis Indiana.  Telephone number is (317) 897-8660.  I was in last night and I know they had at least two left, one with & one without the collapsable.

Special edition owner, like M4Ms.  (shot his and had to have one of my own)  Held up great so far.  Wish I could make the stock collapse.

Can that retractable stock work on a M1S90?

No.  The collapsible stock for the M4/M1017 won't work on other Benelli's.

I must have missed this thread.
I have had my M4 for about 2 years. I have a conventional stock (no PG) on it and it shoots great.
I use it for shooting clays and pest control on the farm.

What is deal with the multi piece mag tube on your guys guns?? Does it restrict the mag capacity??

I picked mine up about a month ago and havn't had time to really run and gun with it. BUT, at first testing I ran 100 rounds of reduced recoil OObuck Federal Tactical, 25 rounds of Winchester full power OO buck 2-3/4, and 10 rounds of Fed OOO buck 3" Magnums through it. The gun ate everything 100%. I'm very pleased with it.. I'll try and post back further range results as soon as I get it out again...

I pick mine up next week off layaway.  M4 with collaspible stock and I am stoked!!!  Does the military use Eotechs or similar devices on their M4s?  I would love any links to, or pics of M4's in military service.

M11701 = M1014 Limited Edition.  This is a "replica" of the military issue M4, with a non-collapsible skeletonized stock, non-threaded barrel with fixed choke (IC)

M11703 = M4/Super 90 Standard .  This is the civilian version of the M4, shipped with the OEM standard synthetic stock (no pistol grip), and a threaded barrel that accepts the full range of Benelli chokes (ships with C, IC, M).  The recoil tube is machined to accept the skeletonized stock with the pistol grip accessory, but the stock will not collapse (i.e. makes the shotgun similar to the M11701.

M11707 = M4/Super 90 Standard.  This is the civilian version of the M4, *current generation* that ships with the OEM standard synthetic stock, threaded barrel with 2 gas ports.  The recoil tube is machined to accept the skeletonized stock with pistol grip accessory, and will allow the stock to collapse.

M4 is the Benelli model nomenclature. The numbers you see such as 11703 and 11707 are the product codes/numbers. The M4LE you refer to is actually the 11707. It is the only
one that will allow the collapsable stock to retract.

Actually, it's a long story, but the guy that hooked me up with my M4 here traded me barrels.  He kept the M4 action and non choked barrel, and I got the limited edition action and choked barrel. :)

My limited edition M1014-marked shotgun does NOT have a screw-in choke.

Here's mine (with the other M4), it's the LE 1014. I've put about 2K rounds (of almost everything) through it without a hitch. Only gripe is, I wish it would take the collapsible stock...
