My ex-boss just told me he may be selling off some of his collection, he mentioned a Remington 1100 "trap gun" (his words). I was allready thinking about a semi auto shotty, just hadn't picked wich model yet.

I want to install a 10 round mag extension and a stock with pistol grip (with buttstock) maybe a light.

Can you guys give me some pointers on what I should use and where to get it?

Thanks.

I love my Remington 1100.  Picked one up at a gun show from a local dealer for under $300.
18" barrel and Choate pistol grip stock.

Remington 1100 - $295
Wilson Combat +2 Magazine extention - $45
Remington replacement synthetic stock - $45
Dave's Metal Works EasyLoader - $29.95
HiViz Front Sight - $35
Vangcomp button safety - $10
Gunsmithing (add easyloader, safety and HiVis) - $108
Sold the Choate on the EE - <$70>

Total - $497.95

It's a great shotgun - used her in a 3 gun match this weekend.

No, I WANT the long barrel! I'm planning on the 10 round extension. I allready have a 870 with the 28" barrel/ten round mag. I saw a book about turning this into an "exotic weapons system", on the cover the dude has a Remington auto like I describe, long barrel, high cap mag, pistol grip butt stock, ect.

I also want a top mount sling for "patrol ready" style carry.

IF I go shorter on the barrel, I'll just use my chop saw.

On that note; do I need to do any gas port work to cut the barrel back?

Pics of what? The long barrel/10 rounder, or the home grown chop job?

Why?

I have a Rem 870 with the 28" barrel/10 rounder combo .
I'll be cutting back a Win 1300 this week, I'm just waiting on my speedfeed stock and 7 round mag extension.

18+" everything I do is 100% legally, checked and checked again!

I can not imagine....  a 30-inch Trap barrel with 10-rounds of 12-gauge ammo...  that will be one god aughful heavy shotgun....  But hey, if you are man enough to lug it around, good for you...
