You can shoot foster style rifled slugs, (regular cheap slugs) out of your gun using the Improved cylinder choke tube. You can use any of the tubes that were supplied with your gun but the IC will most likely work the best. The down side to this is that you will not have any sights to use. For about $160.00 you can buy a slug barrel from Cabelas.com that will have sights and choke tubes.

Is this gun new? I have two brand new Sporting clays 1100's, one in 20 gauge and one in 28 gauge.  They both have outstanding wood and I would not be dragging them thru the woods deer hunting. You might be better off with a cheap 870 Express for you hunting needs and save the Sporting clays gun for the range.
