I'm looking at buying a Stevens mdl 311A/12GA/28in.bbl.
Overall condition is 95%.
The person is wanting $275.00.Is that a good price?
I have read that older shotguns may need the chamber bored to 2 3/4inches.Because they are at 2 9/16.To shoot modern loads.
Any info on this or web site for me to check would be appreciated.
Thanks.

That sounds like a fair price for the condition.

All the Stevens have 2 3/4" chambers. You generally see the short chambers in early European guns and early Browning A5s in 16 ga.

Thanks,
Lee

My dad has one, and it balances great.  I love it!  And yes, it does have 2 3/4 chambers.
