Are most aftermarket chokes worth the extra money? I see they have different designs that are supposed to improve patterns, such as tabs, ports, or special tapers. Any recommendations? I mainly need a good one for turkeys.

I'm not sure about the fancy, gadget, widget-style chokes. I've never tried them.
They work well. If you call, they are quite helpful and honest. It is cheaper to order online than by phone since you get discounts (2 extended chokes $5 off each plus free wrench and case, and free shipping). Check their site for their current specials.
If I need a choke tube, I order it from Carlson's. Period.

I shoot with alot of really good clay shooters in trap and skeet. The best of them that I have observed were all shooting factory chokes or equivalent. I asked similar questions. They all said that none of them were good enough to see any difference in the various gimick chokes out there. they were all shooting flush mount chokes. Carlson has an excellent reputation and I think they are fine. I went there as I wanted stainless and I thought they looked more durable than my baikal factory chokes and I wanted actual skeet chokes.
