Looks like it was designed by a team of engineers who have no idea how to run a pistol.

This….I see nothing that is going be a sig/Walther/Glock killer.  Also doesn’t  look to good for the Canadian market.

It's like a Walther and Beretta APX had an affair and made an uglier bastard child.

Kinda strange that they're pushing the 509 series off their global mil sales already, wonder if the "HiPer" is cheaper and/or better profit margins than the 509?

FN has this weird recent history of designing a new 9mm service pistol with an eye toward police and military sales, proceeding to have an almost nonexistent marketing campaign to even get it out there, and then giving up and coming out with a new design/modification.  Rinse and Repeat.

Since 2006 they've tried:

FNP
FNX
FNS
509
and now this HiPer.

Seems to be a Herstal designed gun, not FN America designed. Who knows what audience they built it around….

Seems unlikely it will ever lock back on the last round…

Looks like FN took styling cues from Hi Point

I am guessing that will not be for sale in the US. It almost looks like FN Herstal of Belgium came up with a budget 9mm for European sales.

FN Seems to be following S&W's business models lately. The 509 will be the equivalent to the M&P for LE and commercial sales. The HIPer and the SD9VE will be the "budget" offerings with much of it's sales geared towards the budget minded, European market.

Here is a youtube of it from a french gun youtube channel (its dubbed in english).  It seems kind of neat honestly speaking.  The magazine release seems like it could work well.  They put a close frame to slide fit to minimize ingress of dirt.  Don't know about the slide release, looks like you could ride it pretty easily.

Top button of his suit should be buttoned while standing and presenting and the suit should fit. Also, don't wear "fitted" shirts if you look to be in your 4th month of pregnancy.

Stupid tie.

Gig line all messed up.

Pistol might be cool though.

It looks like a hodge podge of pieces parts. I find the 509 a great pistol design with form and function. This looks like something Taurus would spit out.
