I saw a nickle 1911 with a date of 1913 yesterday.   It was owned by an older gentleman that now has lost his faculties so he can not help.  I believe it to be USAF or USN.... I know nothing of the guns(1911's).  I have been looking for one and also am interested in this one for colectable reasons.  Any help would be great.   Thank You.

Nickle? I'm almost %1,000 positive that the nickle plating was added after the fact..either that or it was a presentation piece of some kind.

Is it a presentation piece? What's engraved on it, if anything?

Pics man, pics!
