I saw a nickle 1911 with a date of 1913 yesterday. It was owned by an older gentleman that now has lost his faculties
  so he can not help. I believe it to be USAF or USN.... I know nothing of the guns(1911's). I have been looking for one and also am interested in this one for colectable reasons. Any help would be great. Thank You.lobsta ps Hello, this is my first post in the 1911 forum

Nickle? I'm almost %1,000 positive that the nickle plating was added after the fact..either that or it was a presentation piece of some kind.
Is it a presentation piece? What's engraved on it, if anything? Pics man, pics!  |
