I just bought my first 1911 on a impulse buy and it's a Wilson Combat CQB! Did just spoil myself to the 1911? Am I going to look down my nose at other 1911s? Did I just join a seceret elitist club?

Please help me, did I just jump into a good or bad thing? The gun I got has 50 round through it. I picked it up for $1600. It sounded like a good deal. I wonder I why the guy who bought it got ride of it? Do these things need a break in period?

I hopothosize: If the gun needed a break in period and it did not shoot it's best, that the guy who originally bought it got disipionted and traded it in?

Congrats man.  The CQB is a very good choice.  Take it to the range and have at it.  And then...post a range report.  Have fun.

What, no pics? A very good gun, congtats! People sell off quality items for all sorts of reasons. Don't bother trying to figure out why they sold it, just enjoy. You've just bought one high quality 1911.

It is one of the best 1911 semi-customs made IMHO.  You will be pleased and if it really only has 50rnds through it, you got a smokin' deal.  Even if it has 5,000 rounds through it, it was worth buying.

My guess is the original purchasers wife found the charge on the credit card...

I have a day off on monday and I am going to pick it up then.  This was my last splurge before I get married.  I picked up the CQB on an impulse as well as an AK47 underfolder on impules plus a G17 witch was the original purchase.

when I get it and shoot it I will give you guys the range report + photos.

What kind of camera should I get for the photos.  I a little straped for cash now for some reason.

Perhaps because of the 3 impulse gun purchases? :P

I bought my first CQB about a year ago and had heard mixed reports on the QC. The first time I took it to the range I held my breath waiting for a problem. After 400-500 rounds without a failure and true POA to POI I was in "heaven". I now own 2 CQBs and 3 Protectors (all 5"). All that talk about some smiths leaving Wilson to form their own company and the accompaning lack of QC is BS. Wilson is currently turning out some of the finest semi-custom 1911s on the market and their customer service is second to none. In a 5" 1911 the CQB and the Protector is IMHO their best deals. Anyone else reading this that is interested in a Wilson, IM MT_Pockets he is a Wilson Combat Master Dealer and has the best prices I've seen.

You can't go wrong with the CQB!  Mine is a dream to shoot, smooth as butter!  Don't know why it took me so long to jump to the semi-custom 1911's?(Ok yes I do, the $$'s, but now, I NEED a Yobo!)  Congratulations on a good buy!

You got a great gun at a great price.

Use Wilson mags, shoot quality ammo and resist the urge to dink with it if its working.  Learn to maintain it, and shoot the shit out of it.

You should know better than start a thread like this with no pics.

Congrats on the CQB!
Break-in is somewhere between 250-500 rounds.
Welcome to the 1911 disease, it may be your first but it definately won't be your last.
