I recently bought a Guncrafter Hellcat 9mm, Government model. To make it affordable I sold a custom Dan Wesson and a Les Baer Commanche. I was very hesitant about selling them both because they were excellent pistols, but I went ahead and did it anyway. That was a great decision.
As well made as the Dan Wesson was, the Hellcat has a higher quality build. The fit and finish are perfect. The trigger breaks right at 2 pounds 10 ounces, clean and crisp.
This is the second group I shot with it at 15 yards
First range trip results
I shot this group over several mags at 15 yards off hand as the sun went down.
I am a huge Dan Wesson fan, and I would not have believed the difference in quality until this Guncrafter came. This is not a slam on DW, it is simply an illustration of what a hand made 1911 is like.
