Is it possible to get a pistol in your name under the age of 21 in Nevada?

Federal laws prohibit handgun ownership and possession for those under 21. One more thing you can thank Billy Clinton for.

Actually, you can not buy a handgun if you are under 21. But in many states you can own one, for example, your parents could give you one. Check you local laws.

I had to wait until I was 21. Dad wouldnt get me one.

But since then just a little over a year I have bought 7 of them.

Waiting sucks but it isnt really all that bad.

Actually like another said it is 18 years old.

Youth Handgun Safety Act (BATF) section ATF I 5300.2 (7-98).
(3) Federal law prohibits, except in certain limited circumstances, anyone under 18 years of age from knowingly possessing a handgun, or any person from selling, delivering, or otherwise transferring a handgun to a person under 18.

18 to possess.

Buy is 21.

But your parents can get one and "keep" it for you.

In PA a parent can transfer a firearm to their kids without paperwork, so my dad gave me mine at 20.
