I never sold one gun I've ever bought and I own a bunch of them.

I wonder if this is rare.

im not a collector. everyone gun i own is for a specific purpose. if i find something i think is better, ill buy it. if it IS better, ill sell what it is replacing.

Ive sold tons of firearms.. Im not a collector, am a Shooter,.. If I do not like the firearm, Or if if doesnt fit a stated usage it goes. Granted sometimes the stated reason is a bit odd, but it does have to have a use. The only exclutions to this rule are stuff thats inherited or has sentimental value.

My rule is, I only sell a gun if im directly replaceing it with another.... Hence, dropped my Para Warthog ( JAM-O-MATIC ) in exchange for a Glock 30, and dropped my Xd-9 sub comp for a Glock 26.... Just like Glocks better...

Only sold or traded a few.

Sold a USP .40 for a HK P7M8

Ruger Mini 30 (Jam-O-Matic) traded for a Springfield 1911 Loaded (POS)....traded the 1911 for a DPMS AP4 No ban

Traded a Hi Standard, Mossberg 500 and Remington 870 for a Benelli M1 super 90 with pistol grip stock.

Other than that I like to buy and hold.

my 24 year old son still has all his guns (17 or 18)  but I have gone through way too many...if I had to do it over again I would have kept the better ones that were valuable and irreplaceable...like 2 model 70's from 1960 with consecutive serial numbers...or a German PPK or PP without interarms markings...or a 1911 mfg in 1917 in minty condition...those I'll never see again...and I sold them for about 1/4 what they are worth today.
but, I still have a bunch of them, too.

I have sold very few. Only about 5 or 6 total and none that were valuable. A post ban Norinco SKS, Rossi .357, Colt revolver, Oly upper and so on.  Even if there is something better out there I will just save up and buy it.  I kinda like to work on the gun until it is 100% or until I'm happy with it.  Have always been kinda attached to ALL firearms good and bad. The only time I sold some was to cut back on the number of calibers I had to buy.

I am the type of guy that only sells to replace.  For instance, last Sunday I sold an Olympic/Armalite AR15, and had it replaced with a Vector underfolder AK within about 20 minutes.  Although sometimes I will sell more than one gun to acquire a quality piece.  But I am strictly a shooter, I own the firearms that work for me.

I"m selling 5 rifles and 5 pistols as I type...actually, 2 pistols have actually already sold...

I'm not a believer in keeping safe queens for nostalgia sake...if I don't shoot them anymore...out they go...

Never sold one.  Gave a couple away as gifts.  I don't have any plans on selling any either.  The closest I ever came to selling one was I swapped a pre ban lower for a post ban lower with a board member so he could have an evil black rifle in his home state.

I sold a lot of guns over the years and found a better solution to make place in the safe. With just a few exceptions, I now give them to my sons.

I am an unfaithfull gun owner. I find deals on firearms I am interested in, shoot them and sell them. Most I sell for what I have in them, but once in a while I make a tidy profit. Only magnify the next purchase / deal. Currently I am full of guns I might sell, but am not boored with.

The guns I own and wont sell
SP101 Ruger 357
Glock21
SKSD takes- AKmags and has a 16 in barrel.
G3 clone- Got it dirt cheap, and it drives tacks.
Car Ar15- I like em short.
SW29 44 mag Fun and usefull
Glock 19 IDPA gun
Rem 870 tricked
Savage 110 in .308
Handi rifle in .308 and 17hmr
10/22 tricked

I have noticed that I am slowing down on my selling of firearms, simply because I know what I will shoot and need. And what is Hype verse Quality.

I have sold five guns over the years, one was a POS mossberg shotgun, (hated that thing) my first gun therefore I wish I still had it.  the others I sold to get enough to buy new ones.  Wish I had all of those back too.  I haven't sold a gun since 1986 or so.  I have bought a few since then.

I sold a nice Browning High Power to a guy in 1984 so I could get the 1911 I wanted at the time.  I have seriously considered looking that guy up and offering to buy it back.

I used to buy and sell guns alot. Don't do it anymore.
I would buy, fix up and then trade off.
Traded up to better ones.
A friend finally convinced me to hang onto them, now I don't sell off anything.
I just buy and keep.

The only gun I've sold is a Remington 710 in .30-06. I didn't find anything wrong with it function-wise, I just found myself looking through the safe one day and found out that 1) It never got much range time, and 2) It had no real cool-factor to warrant me keeping it. So I sold it at a gun show and threw that money together with what I had to buy a USGI M1 carbine for $400.

I'm pleased with the results. I now have an M1 Carbine (awesome) and the .30-06 hole in my collection is now filled by a CMP M1 Garand.

sold two at seperate times for two basic reasons.  the first was that i didn't want to buy that caliber of ammo anymore.  and the second was that i didn't want the guns because they weren't that enjoyable to shoot.  they were a sig p232 w/ hogues and an ishy enfield.

Yep, this is me too.

Like and old rancher who owned 5000 acres once said,  "I don't want all the land, just all the land next to mine."

Well you can use that quote, tweek it a bit, and that is me with guns.

I've sold some and traded others.  Never regretted any of it.

Traded a SIG P226 for a Steyr SPP
.30 commerical Luger for a Colt Combat Target
3rd gen Glock 23 for a 2nd gen Glock 19
Glock 30 for an XD40 Tactical
Savage 110 for a M1917 Winchester
Century FrankenFal for a Polytech M14

... and others I can't recall at the moment.

i try to never spend money on guns.  if i find something i really want, i'll sell something i have that i can bear to see gone.  i recently sold a 24" upper to buy an HK USP9f.

I generaly research all guns I buy pretty well before hand, so I never really end up with one Im unhappy with or dont want. A while back I looked through my safe to find two pistols which I bought back in the days when I couldnt afford better, I hadnt fired them in years. I took them down to my local gun store and worked a trade for a quality pistol. Those were the last of the low rent stuff I had, so probably  never again. Typicaly if I dont want it I dont buy it so I keep most all that I get.

I have a "core" which arent available for disposition. Couple of sentimental inheritance pieces, some SHTF weapons, duty weapons. The rest are potential trading stock- I am always procuring something else anyway so it doesnt matter. I have a bad disease- FAD-- Firearms Acquisition Disorder. So trading and selling are just a way of mitigating the symptoms.

Only one I've sold was one of those Kel-Tec folding carbines in .40 S&W...
Stock was just too damn short for me to use...
