I love it personally (especially because it was a free upgrade on a 400 dollar pistol) but I was just curious what others might think. :)

I'm not a big fan of shiny guns, but that looks pretty good. I like the fact that the safety instructions are gone. I hate that shit on pistols.

My buddy picked up a 229 equinox for $900.  I was jealous of the look (good mix of parkerizing and polished) but 1. they don't make the Equinox 226 in 9mm and 2. I don't have 900 bucks to spend especially on something that's not exactly what I want.

I hope you didn't take the serial number off on the other side. If there's one over there.

Looks good though.

Nice. Does it shoot as good as it looks though?

Very pretty.  How'd you swing that for free

Oh the gun shoots excellent.   It's an FN FNP-9 / Browning Pro-9  Never have any jams or misfires and I've put about 6000 rounds of various ammo through it including +P and light reloads without any issue.  I'll tear ragged 3 inch holes in a target at 10 yards with my not so accurate reloads all day long.  Love the trigger, I think it's 3.5 pounds.

I swung it for free because of where I work we have a lot of machinery here (not exactly PC to bring in gun parts so I won't tell you exactly where) Its a fully tooled plant so I had one of the guys help me mock it up on a precision surface grinder and away we went. :)

whatever you're into though, I guess it's not a total bling job in that you removed the warning label in the process
