Here she is. Over Christmas Dad was cleaning out his collection and I bought this from him.
About 100rnds thru it since new (how do I tell date from serial number? I know it is at least 12 years old due to the fifteen rounds mags). Original owner decided it just wasn't for him and sold it to my Dad who then put just a few rounds thru it and stuck it in the safe. He shot his other Beretta and Colt most of the time. Range report toward the end of the month.

The Italian 92F's are the cream of the crop, IMHO. Just rack that glassy slide and you can feel the difference between them and the US made ones.
I have one just like it, it's my favorite gun to shoot. |

Fit and finish is incredible. I had (  ) a 92FC (13+1) that was the same way. Glassy smooth is a great way to describe it .

I've got a 92F *USA
its a good shooter, but doesn't see too much range time. I've got plenty of .45 stuff to play with (anyone else not 100% sure on the 92F as compared to the 92FS (broken slide issues)) |

THE MAIN DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 92F AND THE 92FS IS THE FS HAS AN OVER SIZE HEAD ON THE HAMMER PIN THAT RIDES IN A SLOT ON LEFT SIDE OF THE SLIDE

I had an Ital 92F. Loved how it felt in the hand. Completely reliable. Trigger was awful heavy though.

I just got an M9 for christmas and I love it. I had to change my grip a little compared to how I held my 1911, but I love the way it feels in my hand. And I know everyone probably thinks I'm nuts but, I like 9mm better for a couple of reasons. But I have about 250 rounds through mine and I like it very much.

You need to buy and install the "D" model (DAO) mainspring. It makes a significant difference in the trigger pull. I bought mine from Langdon but I don't know who's selling them now... maybe you can buy it directly from Beretta.

Some are made here and some are made in Italy. the ones made here have a safety billboard on the side al'la Ruger. Italy made ones do not have that and are supposedly a little bit smoother. I have a 92fsINOX that is Italian. I am unsure what models are made where. Check out berettaforums.com for a wealth of info. |

I fired 150 rounds today.
50rnd WWB (Wal-Mart) - 124grn FMJ 100rnd WWB (Wal-Mart) - 115grn (  ) FMJNo issues at all, great accuracy from the gun (a known quantity given the 92/M9). A light recoiling handgun given the weight and the 9mm round. Other observations (that I had forgotten from the way past): The grip seems even fatter when actually firing. Its also shorter than a full grip 1911 (I had it at the range as well) I like the figure eight sights! ETA: 7yrds - 15rnds each, RAZR phone pic

How were the sights aligned? Did each load shoot point of aim?
Mine shoots 6" low with WWB, but boint of aim with silvertips and +p loads. HAve not tried 147 gr ammo. |
