The 14 was a great pistol. Values will be very dependent on the condition but $150-250.00 would certainly be reasonable. Lot's of S&W folks tend to hang out around The Smith & Wesson Forum

There are a couple of variants of the model 14 (AKA K-38), the most interesting being the 6" Single Action Only (yep, you have to cock it each time) target model. The first generation K-38 was made until 1981.

A 98% gun is worth ~$250 the SAO about $275.

The newer Model 14 K-38 Combat MAsterpiece is worth about $50 more. It's effectively a Model 19 in 38 special.  They were made until 1999
