OK, no more "stirrin' the pot".

How hard is it to change the 9X18 Makarov bbl to a .380? I've heard you need a bbl press, otherwise slide damage is possible.  

And is it a bad idea to shoot +P ammo in the Makarov?

Yes, you need a barrel press.
Change your spring to a wolf, extra # spring.
I may be wrong, but I think the original is 17#, you could try a 19#, for +P loads.  Why not just shoot the 9X18 caliber?  It is about what you will get with a .380 +P load.
I have shot Corbon loads in mine, but I'm not wild on the extra wear they will create.

Thanks for info. I might just get the .380 bbl/press, some .380 ammo and set that aside until such a time as 9X18 becomes scarce.

Learn to reload.  There are some good loads that can duplicate and exceed performance of the factory loads.  Better selection of premium bullets also.  Ya know, I love my new B92fs, but my Russian Mak is still a hoot to shoot.  The accuracy still impresses me.
