Sold my XD40SC; What should I replace it with?

[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Sold my XD40SC; What should I replace it with?

That was the 3rd XD I owned. Nothing wrong w/them, just looking for something else has my back up CC pistol.

Right now, I am looking at either a Glock 27 or a USP40 Compact. Shot my friend's USP45C & did surprisingly well with it. I thought it was going to be too big for my hands. Glad I was wrong. Problem w/the USP is finding one used at a decent price.

Whatever I buy must be compact. I carry IWB. Really looking for .40 S&W only as I consolidated to just .40 for my handguns outside of my LCP.

FYI, my main carry piece is a M&P40C

Get the USPc 40. I got mine a few months ago and love it. It was my second HK, I bought a full size USP off a friend that was in a tight spot one week before I traded for the stainless USPc.

And as soon as I get a concealable holster for it it will replace my XD sub-compact 40 for daily carry. I didn't understand the HK following until I shot one, they are worth every penny. Soon after my new love for my HKs set in, I got rid of my XDM 40 full size. FWIW, I am no expert , I don't compete in shooting matches, no military background, and I am not in law enforcement. I am a CCDW instructor and the USPc suits my needs.

I would say either the USP Compact or SIG P229 in the 40 since you like the 40. I don't own the USP, but I really like it too. My gripe is that in my area, there isn't a lot of dealers for HK, so I can't see one readily or even get accessories. I have the same issue with my compact P239 40 SAS gen 1. Hard to get accessories. Hence my suggestion for the P229.

I would say the glock. It's around the same price range as your xd. If you are wanting to invest more money then you can't go wrong with a HK either.

My vote. You are already used to it, you have mags and holsters, buy another and you would have a spare for the small chance you would have to use it and it would sit in an evidence locker for awhile.

Held the G27 again today. USP definitely feels better in my hand. Also played with a PPS that felt good, but I know nothing about them. Are they reliable & accurate?

You can LEM it for DAO without a safety/control lever.

P2000SK .40S&W or M&P40c. My USPc .40S&W is one of my favorite firearms, just something about how it feels and shoots. The recoil is very, very light.

I love the USP and would own one, except for the uber high cost for extra mags. I came close to pulling the trigger on one awhile back when CDNN had tons in stock at great prices. The mags are just crazy expensive though.

I would talk with the guys at Buds Guns. They have a pretty big revolving inventory of H&K products.. They should be able to get you what you want fairly quickly. I have bought several firearms from them and been real happy..

I had a usp45c...it seemed huge! (Not sure how different the 40 and 45 are) I now have a G26 and its perfect for summer carry.

It's true that they are a bit more expensive but with a top tier handgun (sorry couldn't resist

) it's part of the package.

As you say, CDNN has some great deals on HK mags at times.
