Myself , I like 10 yards for point shooting and rapid fire . Then 25 yards for aimed accuracy .

The reason I ask is because I just found a new indoor range to shoot at and the majority of other shooters were mostly running the targets out 7 yards or less .

7-15 yards at the indoor range, 25-50 yards outdoors, usually with empty propane tanks for targets.  No matter how much I practice, I still suck.

I shoot mostly at  15 yards.  I try to also mix in some shooting at 7 yards and 25 yards.

no more than 15 yards with the snubbie and 25 with the rest

300 yards, but I shoot really big targets.

5-10 yds ("house" distances) for quick target acquisition, double tap drills, etc. and 25 yds for accuracy at the indoor range.  Every once in a while, just to reinforce how bad a shot I am, I will try open sights out to 100 yds when I am at the outdoor range.

Most often at 15 yards so, but 25 yards at time.

With my M-92 and Federal HP ammo I can hit bowling pins at 100 yards if I do my part  ! ! !

3, 7, 10 and 15.  25 when I want to work on trigger control.

I shoot at unknown distances. Most is between 3 yards and 50 yards, but exact yardage I never check.

I doubt very much that a BG is going to stand at a known distance if the need ever arises.

Mostly 25 yards. The 15 yard range is always full of people who don't know how to shoot. (None of you, I'm sure.)

Since rapid fire (>1 shot per second) is frowned upon, I find the 15yd range kind of boring.

If I can hit at 25y, I can hit at 15y and below.

Also, if my gun shoots POA at 25 it will shoot POA at 15. But if it shoots POA at 15 it may not shot POA at 25. This doesn't make sense to me mathematically but that's been my practical experience.

At 25y I generally shoot standing, 2 hands and keep them in the black with a decent gun (TLE/RL2 or USP45F).

When I want to work on one-hand or weak-hand I do go to 15y though.

Mostly under 10-15yd., using movement and cover when I can, but all the way to 200yd. every now and then (for fun mostly) You might be suprised at what you can do with a good pistol at 100yd., however. Back when I had "eyes" I have shot steel at 200yd. with a 6in. Python and 125gr. magnum loads and been able to get a very high percentage of hits from prone once the necessary sight picture was "dialed in" to my puny little brain.

I have had classes with mostly good shooters go all the way back to 100yd. on steel as a confidance builder as well. (piss poor classes never got that far!)

7-50 yards.

I really enjoy PPC, and the times I've shot it, it's been indoors, 7 yds to 50 feet reduced.  Good drills.

Mostly 15 yards, sometimes 25 yards - slow fire.  Occasionally 7  yards rapid fire.  Once in a while will try to hit steel plates at 75 and  100 yards.

0 to 50yds.  Most draw and fire practice within 25 yds.

5 to 25 yards, mostly.  However, I'll always send several rounds a hundred yards to see if I can hit anything.  I'm usually surprised by how consistent my shots are at that range.

Usually 25 and under, but out to 100 on occasion.

I mix it up, 0-25yrds.  The occasional pot shots at the 100yrd. gong.  I'm happy if I can hit it 3 out of 7 times.

I practice from the muzzle to 150 yards or so.

Mostly in the 3-20 yard range. That reminds me....it's saturday morning, I'm at home, and there's ammo to burn......
