Having had my Five-Seven for only a week, I haven't followed ammo prices.
What has 5.7 ammo been going for?
I see that CDNN has 5.7x28 for $15.99 for a box of 50 and wondering if I should make a big ammo purchase now or wait and see if prices will go down.
Any ideas?

while it is bound to go down after a while, much as .40S&W and .357SIG has done so.....there is no real way of knowing when that will come about. the CDNN price is very good, but there is shipping costs involved that makes it not good for just one or two boxes at a time. I am fortunate to live 15 minutes from "cheaper than dirt" and they stock it on the shelves for 19.95 a box which if you factor shipping, its much the same. But with the magazine ban over for a while at least, sales of the FN 57 will increase and FN says there is a semi auto P90 in the works and a bolt action rifle as well. All of this will make this round more "mainstream" and incourage other ammo makers compete against our sole source (olin winchester division of FN Herstal)

Last gun show a man purchased a case for 460.00 for 500 rounds, thought to my self that they need to go way down before I buy that pistol since no dies or reloading components are available.

RCBS makes the dies for reloading, and the bullet is .224(same as .222REM/.223REM) im sure a 40gr Hornady blitz bullet could be tailored into a load as well as others

Called today to order ammo and CDNN has raised their 5.7x28 ammo to $16.99.
