Hello I am a new proud owner of a XD9 4" and I love it.  I was just wondering what you guys thought about dry fireing the XD's is it ok or not?  I do have snap caps to be on the safe side.  Just tell me what you know.

yup its fine, actually encouraged, to break in the trigger. no need for snap caps at all, rack the slide and squeeze that trigger as much as possible, you will notice a difference in the trigger after awhile. the more the better!

I did that for about an hour last night with no snap caps.

Been doing that since I owned my first XD and it's not broke.

Dry fire away.

Try a 1 mm drop of Moly-Slide on the sear, you'll love the difference.

I used snap caps.  It wouldn't hurt if you do.  Plus you have 'em.  Just use em.
