So I've had my eye on a .45ACP XD for some time... but now I've slipped back into my gotta have a .357 SIG phase... Its a horrible curse but I must live with it I guess.


Gunbroker has shit for good deals (Which is often a good indicator on how the local stores are pricing their guns) for a .357 sig, and not one 5" tactical to be found.  In .40 SW however, you can't shake a stick at the hoards they have for sell...

Whats the process in swapping an XD back between the two calibers?  I haven't given much thought the .40SW, other than it probably kills things if you shoot them, and I can't turn a page in a magazine without seeing .40SW ammo for sale.  

I wouldn't mind trying out the .357 Sig, but at the same time, I wouldn't mind the option of cheap blasting ammo for the .40 SW.  Is it feasible to swap between the do?  Not in the same day mind you, but for several months at a time.

I have an XD 40 5" that I would be willing to part with if ya want.  3 12rd mags as well.

I would guess all you would need is a new barrel. The .40S&W mags and the 357SIG mags are one in the same I believe. So the barrel is all you would need to swap. Swaping the barrel would take all of about 15 seconds.

If you are unsure go to the Springfield website and find their email address. They are pretty helpful, and should know the specifics.

.40 & .357 mags are the same.

IIRC, as long as you get the conversion barrel, you should be good to go (I don't know if a factory .357 barrel will drop in and work).
