I want to reduce my double action trigger pull but I don't want to lighten my primer strike. By only replacing the trigger return spring with a lighter one will I get the desired result?????

It will lighten the trigger pull somewhat. I doubt that it would be enough to tell and may make the trigger stick in the rear position.

Your best bet is to have a good revolver smith just smooth the action. A smooth action feels much lighter without compromising function.
