well after reading the article about it i think i have figured out which kimber i want! it happens to be the warrior!

wanting to know what is a good/decent price range for them so i dont get raped on it. this would be my first 1911 style gun, kimber, other than glock handgun.

also wanting to know if there is only one offered configuration of the warrior... there is a gun shop close to where i work and they have one on sale for around $1700-1900 forgot the actual amount but thats the range it was in.

kimber has the warrior sugg.ret. at $1263
and the dessert warrior at $1282

i like the color of the dessert warrior but also like the traditional black color, is the dessert kimber available yet?

also pics of your own personal one would be great too! something to drool over till one find its home with me.

thanks for any help

Cheapest Ive seen was 1085 at a gunshow.  I personally went with the TLE/RL that I bought new for 875.00.

I just paid $1,116.94 with 6% tax included for the Warrior

I paid $853 with 6% tax included for the TLE/RL II  (but it was a return by a customer, so it was a bit lower than normal price)

So Fight, which one do you like better? I really like my TLE/RL but Im sure the Warrior is a nice piece as well.

Just got the Warrior, so it's hard to say yet.

There was a guy on EE a few weeks ago who was selling 2 NIB for $1000 each shipped.

If I only had the money.

I debated long and hard over  the  Warrior when I bought my Tac. Custom II a few weeks ago.  The gun store here had them for $1049.  I might just start saving up for another.

Gut feel?   I'd probably say get the TLE.    It's got checkering on the front of the grip, I think that ulitimately the external extractor is better, the series 2 stuff makes the gun a little safer and I've never had a problem with it, I don't need the lanyard loop on the Warrior, and it costs a couple hundred less.

I do like the ambi-safety on the Warrior, and it had different sights, though I can't see if they are "better"

You might want to ask "tiburon" where he's getting his.  He told me in an e-mail he has a source for $965 NIB.

from what everyone is posting everyone has gotten better deals than what the gunshop is asking for. almost half of what they are asking for.

Kimber's checkering is a waste of money.  Why not get a SA and add a rail?  It would be about what, 900?

Because then you're stuck with a Springfield?

Seriously though, the Warrior isn't checkered.

What?!?  Using that logic:

Why don't you buy a _______ (insert any underpowered car) and add some GTO emblems on the side of it.  Then you'll have a car just like a GTO.

I'm sorry.  I've been spoiled lately and don't know anything about stock 1911's.

I know the Warrior isn't checkered.  I wouldn't own machine cut checkering anyway.

Edited to remove misplaced anger after a 12 hour trip to the auto shop.  Sorry.

I believe I paid about $1050 or so for mine.

So it looks like an acceptable price range seems to be between 1000 and 1150 or so.

I saw one on gunbroker for $1000. And if that dealer is out of state from your location, then you pay no taxes for the gun too. something to thing about.
