Hello, I am concidering buying a colt defender. Anybody have any experience with these? Any problems? Thanks

I know of a couple of guys who use them for carry guns, both are CCL instructors so they shoot a bit.

If you can get a good price, I'd go for it.

What would be considered a good price? A local shop has a slightly used defender lightweight with 3 different grips & Heiene sights for $600.00. Sounded good to me but my wife say's i'm broke!

$600 is probably about right for market price. You're certainly not getting a steal at that price.

I buy a great deal on lay-a-way although that's hard to do with someone other than a dealer.

I own tthe defender bought in 98 never a hiccup  about 5000 rounds through it so far light 22ozs accuratte for a 3 incher totally invisable in a don hume iwb almost with a yaqui slide with a long shirt really fun gun you wont regrett it good luck
