Curious to see how things go with future Pythons.  Good luck on yours, hope it’s perfect!

In the videos I've seen, I didn't get the feeling they were going to be producing a blued version?  Did you see something that is different?

They have strongly hinted blued is in the works.

Told my LGS about a month ago to call me when they get one in. I was number 2 on there list and still waiting on that call.

A co-worker was at a large show this weekend and found one.  It was not for sale.  It was a “show room sample” used to secure orders.

My buddy told our local dealer he wanted one so he put his name down. 3 or so weeks back I think.

Came in today. Beautiful revolver. How to shoot it soon.

Eta - dealer said this was the first he'd received.

I don't have my paperwork handy but I placed my down payment for a 4-1/4" in late Feb early March .... but nothing yet.

I've had several Pythons over the years in most finish and barrel length combinations. Pythons have always been one of my all time favorite,  and most accurate shooters. I still have a 6" Bright SS Python, with some trigger work from the Colt Custom Shop. I figured I had to try one of these new series, for comparison. A little new with the old.

I’ve always been a Smith & Wesson revolver guy, but they do look sweet. I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a 6 inch some day.

They look really good!

Have they fixed the issues or is that why it’s taking so long to release them?

Didn't know we had a support group here on this topic. I put my money down in Jan-February and not a peep. A Colt "dealer." After the first 2 months I started asking and they just stonewalled with, we havent heard anything from our supplier so call back later. 5 months I started asking if I could get my money back as I didn't appreciate the multi hundred dollar no interest loan with no attempt on their end to acquire or actually inquire about them from Colt. Not without a hundred dollar cancellation fee they said. Finally talked to an owner who agreed to refund the money without charge if I wanted. He seemed a helluva lot more reasonable than the desk clerks who stonewalled, so I kept the money down. Been encouraged to see more people recently have been getting them after long waits. Cross fingers!

For what it's worth, the grip looks horrible. But if you're okay with it, enjoy.

Has any one tried to see if the old Accro style sights can be installed on the 2020 Pythons?  The new adjustable rear sight just appear  Cheap.

I will be taking it to the range tomorrow. Obviously they feel different in trigger and action from original Pythons (at least mine anyway) but my initial reaction is they feel good and feel more suitable for defensive revolver if that is your thing.

nice to see that

thanks for posting it

looks like they fixed the trouble the early ones had with buggered up crowns

Got a call a few weeks ago while I was on vacation. Im first on the list where I put my money down for 4.25 inch. The gun store had gotten a single 6inch in and wanted to offer it to me. I was in an area with no cell service so I didnt get the message until hours later when I hit an area that did. It was gone before I could call back. Had they offered to let me buy it and stay on the list for the the 4.25 Id have jumped in a second. Still very positive news they actually got one in as opposed to the near 8 months of them not hearing a single thing from their Colt distributor.

Just got done doing an initial inspection, cleaning and lube on two new ones for a friend.

DAMN!  Super nice!

Think of them this way:  the durable feel of the older 686s but more smooth like a Python.  Great finish. Great crowns bores and chambers.  Timing is IMPECCABLE on both guns.  Finish is excellent.  The ejector rod feel is slightly grittier than an original Python but it doesn't impeded function and will smooth out with use.

Okay, trigger pull.  The newest Pythons have a VERY smooth double action  pull that just slightly but smoothly "hitches up" a bit in spring pressure right before the hammer drop.  I personally like this as it allows me to stage the hammer right where I want it before I let the hammer fall.  Single action pull on the 6 is about 4 to maybe 4.5 pounds but crisp and clean.  Single action pull on the 4 inch is around 3 pounds and also clean and crisp.

In this one instance, the 4 inch is noticeably smoother than the 6 but that is NOT to say the 6 ain't smooth.

This is a SOLID gun.  You can FEEL that it's more robust than the original Python...but that is not to take away from the stellar workmanship that went into those guns.

I'll tell ya right now...I am in for a 6.  Since Smith and Wesson emptied the contents of their bowels into their bed about 15 or 20 years ago I have been dying for a smooth, good looking, durable revolver.  Assuming it shoots half as good as it looks and feels, I think I have found that gun.
